What is a Mastermind Group?
Way back in 1908 a guy named Napoleon Hill was commissioned by
Andrew Carnegie (then the richest man in the world) to interview
the 504 most successful people of his day. The objective was to
find what success has in common.
His book, 'Think and Grow Rich' finally came out in 1937
and outlined the '13 Principles' that Hill's long years of research
had identified as being common to every successful person.
One of those principles was that of the Master Mind Group. Hill
demonstrated that no successful person does it alone. All are
surrounded by people who can help them, advise them, criticize
them, encourage them, motivate them, inspire them and spark them to
be better than they could ever be on their own.
He goes even further to suggest that people with a mastermind
group around them can tap into an intelligence that is beyond
themselves - that the coming together of two or more minds focused
on a single purpose creates an fusion of intellect that can never
be achieved by the individuals on their own.

Introduction to this
site
Statistically, 95% of the people who attend seminars such as the
World Internet
Summit will go away and do nothing with all the information they
received. There are many reasons for this - information 'overload'
is one where they simply cannot 'see the wood for the trees'.
However, the most overriding reason is lack of support and the need
for help, encouragement and accountability.
Many of the attendees purchased one or more 'packages' from the
WIS speakers which in most cases involves some form of ongoing
contact with that speaker via a series of conference calls. Having
parted with a sizeable amount of credit card funds is in itself
sufficient motivation for most people to stick at it and try to
make a success out of whatever programme they bought themselves
into. However, it is not that easy when you are trying to work with
someone on the other side of the globe in a very different time
zone - suddenly it all seems very remote from the 'buzz'
generated during the 4 day summit - 4 days of enthusiasm and
encouragement generated from being surrounded by a group of like
minded people.
This group was formed to help fill the vacuum created by the
aftermath of WIS UK 2005. The idea is to have a monthly informal
meeting where WIS attendees can get together, network, share ideas,
create JV's, share online marketing products, resources and
expertise etc etc. The group has now grown to include members
beyond the initial 'WIS attendees' and anyone is free to join
us.
Monthly meetings are currently held at a venue in central London
- details can be found by clicking London Meetings link in the left panel. Feedback
from the monthly meetings can be found in the members forum.
For logistical reasons, it is not possible for all members
to attend the OMMG meetings (although one of our very enthusiastic
members Gillian Duff made the return journey by overnight
bus from Scotland to be with us at one of our meetings). However, I
propose that they can still join the OMMG through this web
site which will provide all of the same benefits albeit
remotely. Maybe we can encourage 'regional' meetings?
In addition we now have a Members Forum as a means of communicating with our
members and encourage interaction particulaly among online members
unable to attend the monthly meetings. To join the forum you will
need to register by clicking the appropriate link in the forum
header panel.
I see this site evolving with new features and content being
added in response to lots of feedback I hope to receive from our
members - this is a group web site and we all want to be
comfortable using it. We can discuss ideas at our monthly meetings
or please feel free to email me at any time (contact details
below).
All ideas, comments etc welcome please.
Success to us all,
Richard Taylor

Footnote:
If you think you`re beaten you
are,
If you think you dare not, you don`t.
If you like to win, but think you can`t,
It is almost certain you won`t.
If you
think you`ll lose, you`re lost.
For out of the world we find,
Success begins with a fellow`s will-
It`s all in the state of mind.
If you
think you`re outclassed, you are,
You`ve got to think high to rise.
You`ve got to be sure of yourself before
You can ever win that prize.
Life`s
battles don`t always go
To the stonger or faster man,
But soon or late the man who wins
Is the man WHO THINKS HE CAN !

Kipling)
